Guided Caving in Slovenia
Karst Caving is an optional activity on our tailor-made holidays and includes two nearby caves, suitable for touring, where you will be supervised by an experienced caver from Tolmin. For caving trips appropriate footwear is required!

Zadlaška or Dante’s Cave got its name from the famous Italian poet Dante Alighieri,
who visited the Patriarch of Aquileia in Tolmin at the castle on Kozlov rob in 1319, and supposedly got his inspiration for his depiction of Hell in the Divine Comedy from this cave.
This karst cave boasts stalactites and stalagmites in several places and has been explored to a length of 1,500 meters. The entrance to the cave is located above the confluence of the Tolminka and Zadlašcica rivers. The colorful cave world can be viewed up to the first gallery; however, those seeking adventure can also arrange a trip as far as the third gallery.

The trip is rounded out with a tour of the Tolminka gorges, Bear’s Head and Devil’s Bridge. The greatest advantage of caving is that it can be undertaken at any time of the year.
